I had my gait analysed (I’m neutral) as I’ve been getting some grief from my left ankle and left hip. It’s taken me 8months from starting this programme to decide I’m going to go running at least twice a week so it was worth the money. Up to this point I’ve been running in a pair of off the shelf new balance trainers which were half price at the time I got them and although they’ve been fine (I wondered) if they had contributed to my issues as a lot of trainers are for over pronation and this would really affect running injuries if they’re wrong for you.
Well my new shoes feel like boats to run in-as they are two sizes bigger than the 6 I normally wear. However I do believe they have made a difference already. My hip seems ok this morning and my ankle only twinged a tiny bit and then it disappeared. (The niggle not my ankle 😂) which is fabulous considering I also walked 9miles yesterday in the countryside oo’er hill and dale. Fingers crossed my running experience is about to change drastically.

I got a gait analysis and new shoes before I started the programme. Previous to that I thought I needed shoes for over-pronation and thought I knew the right size. I bought zero drop shoes with no over-pronation correction, and half a size larger than normal. No injuries, and they've been brilliant, love my Altras!
Hi Pippatong, just done the same although have not yet purchased the lovely new trainers yet (still baulking over the price!). I’ve had a problem with my tendon which has temporarily stopped me from running and I also thought that incorrect footwear may be a contributing factor. I will watch with interest to see if they help, please post again and let us know how you get on.
I’ve worn them twice now and my ankle feels a lot better. I will update after two weeks as that would be a reasonable set of runs to really test the theory. I have to say I cried a bit as I left the shop £105 shorter.
I learned long ago that the right shoes are key - even at the expensive price ( expensive for me anyway). I decided to make that my splurge purchases. I usually have two at a time, one for walking and one for running. Sometimes also a third for trail runs. Why - because my health is worth it!
