I have just come back from W3R1 which I just about managed. BUT I noticed a bit of wrist pain last week and today, wrists and lower arms hurt when I was running. Can anyone enlighten me as to what the heck is going on? I thought I had enough trouble with lungs ( I have COPD) and legs ( I am 59) but now other bits of my body are joining in. Any advice???I really want to try and complete the program.
wrist pain?? really?: I have just come back from... - Couch to 5K
wrist pain?? really?

How are you using your arms? I run with 90 degree elbow bend, hands and wrists relaxed and don’t cross my body with my hands. I don’t know if this will help with the pains, it’s a new one on my to be honest... I assume you’re not doing this on your hands 😂
Well done completing the runs and I hope this issue resolves itself.
well I thought I was running with arms fairly close to the body - I used to do a lot of cross country as a kid and so I don't think I flap my arms about too much. I was wearing thin gloves to keep my hands warm . It has stopped since I came back but was quite a distraction this morning
Just had a google and the only thing I could see was fist clenching seems to cause it, advice was to imagine holding an egg in each hand. It doesn’t seem uncommon but nothing on the running sites other than forums and some of them have stupid answers.

As UnfitNoMore says it is not a common complaint, but I would say it is down to tensions in your body and if you are clenching your hands then that is probably the cause. We all run better when relaxed. Some complain of achey shoulders, but that is often down to carrying water bottles or phones in their hands.
thanks - I am having a lot of headaches, neck and shoulder ache - so yes tension probably
thank you for replying.
