Started week 5 today - is anyone else experiencing mildly painful feet when running?

Good job on the running. Have you had hair analysis yet? Maybe there’s something in your footfall causing it? Are you running it to hard? (it a thing we males are often afflicted by.) how do your feet land? Flat and under the body tends to cause less pain. Has this been ongoing or is it new with the increasing running? Maybe an extra rest day will help. Do you have any pains or niggles in the ankle or further up your leg? Are you tying your shoes too tightly? There’s several ways of lacing your shoes... have a google.

Having the wrong hair really does make your feet hurt....................... sorry UnfitNoMore but that autocorrect is a classic!

I dunno about the feet, it’s certainly had an effect on my ears... just corrected but now I’m changing it back!

Surely, that should be 'hare' analysis ( sorry my lame attempt at a running related joke - I'll get my coat).

Hair analysis crucial, I find.

It’s critical... we all need a hairdresser on the start line, then it’s so much easier!

UnfitNoMore has given you plenty to think about.......... including your hair...........that should have been gait analysis, which I would recommend to every new runner.

Your shoes would be at the top of my list of queries...........either not supportive enough or past their best.

My hair is on my mind if not on my head 😂😂😂

If you're not used to being on your feet a lot they may just ache from the increased usage; this will go after a while as you get used to it. Good hydration will help a lot and nothing wrong with taking a mild analgesic such paracetamol AFTER running to ease the discomfort.

Thanks guys. Had gait analysis on treadmill this week - apparently my feet land in the correct way, so I've bought some proper running shoes - I hope that is going to help, especially as the distances increase. (I've been running in some old cross trainers until now, just in case I lost interest).

The more I think about it, the more it makes sense that it's just 10 years of inactivity and it'll go away after time. the first two weeks I was getting terrible stitch and back pain - into week 5 and that's all but gone now.

Also - I'll be sure to run a comb through my hair before next rub :)
