1 week without running

With my work I do four 12 hour shifts then four days off so for those four days it's hard to squeeze in running but usually manage 1 run. Not this time for whatever reason then I've come down with some sort of virus/bug where my whole body ached I was exhausted and sweating like crazy. That has gone yesterday but back to work I go. I don't want to rush back if not quite 100% especially with long days at work. When I do get back on it in 2 to 3 days will this have effected anything?

Usually a week off, or even two weeks, does no harm as long as it’s not happening over and over again. Probably you’ll be able to pick up where you left off. However after your bug it’s really important to be sure you are properly recovered before you run again, and be even more careful than usual about hydration.

You should be fine for up to two weeks. So, hopefully you’ll be fully recovered by then.
