Love that there is a survey to see how far people managed to run on graduation but does it really matter, when I started couch25k I though yes by the end of it I will be able to run 5k!
What a laugh I managed about 3.5k but guess what, that was more than when I started and that is what really matters. If anyone is dishartened donβt be you are wonderful and you are doing wonderfully!
Just to give an update me and my now need to invest in a belt body to hold up my trousers have just managed to run 4.06k in 30min and that 3 weeks after graduation!

To be fair we have thought over this poll for many years. We wanted to find a way to be able to get the information without making anyone feel disheartened. The overall opinion was that people needed to see that they werenβt alone with the help of the poll rather than us just telling them.
As someone who graduated at 3.7km I wholeheartedly agree with what you are saying and would reiterate to anyone who feels the poll could be negative please donβt think of it that way, we are all off the couch and we are all running.
A 30 min run is a 30 min no matter the distance covered.
Indeed and that is what I like about the poll is that you can see you are not alone! 30mins is 30mins.
When I started, I was thinking "5k in half an hour? Hmm, I don't think my legs can move that fast ". Then I joined this forum and saw that I wasn't alone in having slow legs. In fact, I was encouraged to go even slower For me, that's the best piece of advice I've been given. Otherwise I'd have been bombing away, then left wondering why I'm on the hospital bed or worse. As so many kind forum members have said 'a 30 min run is a 30 min run'. I've not reached the program half-way point and I'm getting there slowly and steadily
