So after doing couch to 5k (started Aug) and completing my first park run at the beginning of November, I have just ran 4 miles (6.4k) for the 2nd time! Whop, whoop!
I was a non runner for over 20 years and I have amazed myself just how far I have come. My motivator is my husband who is an established runner, but he patiently runs alongside me on the longer runs giving me the boost I need when things are tough. If I can do it anybody can, just keep chipping away at it and you will surprise yourselves!! 😊. Happy Running.

Happy running to you Honeybee99, great time for your 6.4K run, nice that your husband runs along beside you to encourage you on when things get tough. 😊
Thanks Honeybee, I was just lamenting on my lack of progress since graduating but your advice of just keep chipping away at it has resonated and that's what I will do. Happy Running to you too!
I agree about chipping away, even another 100 meters further than a previous run is progress! I surprised myself yesterday, went out to just do a steady 30 mins, didn't look at my watch at all until I hit the 30 min mark and it seems I had run nearly 4k (as opposed to my usual 3.5k), plus my average heart rate has come down by 6 bpm since my last 30 minuter, so it just goes to show that although it might not feel like you're moving forward, you ARE, bit by bit!
Well done. Keep going. And sometimes you get a bit obsessed by looking at the watch and miles. It is nice just to go at your comfy speed and see where it takes you. 😊
