Hi Beth... and welcome.

I won’t lie... I found the first run here bloody tough. Then I got told to slow down and it got easier!

Just remember this programme helps you to become a runner, you’re not one at the start... there is no too slow!

Enjoy your journey, and know just one thing... you can do this.

Thank you, this was so helpful! I can’t wait to start but I can imagine I’m going to struggle, I can’t run for more than 2 minutes now haha

That’s ok... you only gotta do a minute at a time on the first! You’ll be fine

Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

I found C25K to be one of the most empowering and life affirming experiences in my entire life. Be warned.......it changes lives.

Enjoy your journey.

Welcome ! Some people find this entirely straightforward and bash cheerfully through in nine weeks. Others, like me, find it really challenging and have to do multiple repeats of every single run. Either is fine, and so is every possible variation in between. If you want to do this, you can do it. We’re all right here behind you. Take your time and enjoy the journey x

Thank you so much for your support, I can’t wait to try it out, determined to get fitter and lose a bit of baby weight eventually x

I had to do this the first time I did C25k but this time it’s so much easier. It is about you so do what you can.

The first run is the worst - that is the run you will feel most knackered after, and perhaps the run that is most likely to make you give up. Once you get through that, you will find it get easier and easier. Lots of experts on here will tell you to go slow and steady - I would also add that if it is hard, re-do the runs. It doesn't have to be completed in 9 weeks. Enjoy the huge change in your life which is heading your way.....

Amazing thanks so much! I’ll definitely try to pace myself and I’m so determined not to give up! My goal is to take part in Park Run in the new year!

Go for it! Really well designed programme to use at your pace. It was several weeks before I signed up to this app but so good to have somewhere to share the experience when those around you aren’t that interested!

Your starting at a good time the colder weather is good as this running warms you up very quick , as others have said take it slowly and the program works

Would be useful to think of it as Couch to 30 Minutes Running as it’s about time and not distance. Definitely follow the advice of going as slow as possible and taking the rest days to avoid injury.

It’s a tried and tested program that has been life changing for many. Enjoy your journey!

Couch to 30 Minutes is right. I managed 5k for the first time on Sunday but it took me 45 minutes. I know lots of people will be much quicker than me but it’s not a race. I struggled with a minute at the start and repeated some weeks but I got there eventually.

Amazing, well done you! I can’t wait to be able to do it :)

Welcome!

I could only run for 30 seconds before I started this, so even week 1 looked impossible. But it works!

Keep it slow, never run on consecutive days no matter how much you want to, and have fun!

I’ll just agree with everyone!! The first run killed me, even to say I hated it. Only the fact the other half was doing a different run I stuck to it. On W7 now and feels great and can’t believe the progress that can be made. Stick to the app. Take the rest days take it slow. 👌

I had tried before and failed. Like #unfitnomore I needed to slow down - it was tough but I managed every run and I’m in week 6 now and actually getting a kick from it now 😀. I was feeling very low on Monday went for my run and didn’t just feel better afterwards I felt good! Not saying I enjoy it but instead of thinking I’d quite immediately I’m now thinking of doing a park run when I graduate 😱

That’s what my aim is too! To do park run on a Saturday morning and be able to complete it would be fab! Thank you :)

It's a great programme and you are now on a journey that will take you to purchasing the most outrageous colour schemes you are ever likely to wear :-)

Take it easy, one run at a time and don't look to far ahead. Slow slow slow is the way to go. In 3 or 4 weeks you will look back at these first few runs and won't believe that you found them difficult.

Good luck 👍
