Just completed my first 7 day streak, not overdone it on anyone day, ranged from c. 4-6k each day, still feel ok, body not aching too much, got another 10 days away with work, do I keep it going? Anybody else doing something similar?

I'd like to try it, but am hampered by the advice that you need to be an established runner (have heard both 6m plus or 1 year plus) to run on consecutive days.

So I thought I'd wait til I've been running 6 months and give it a go.

Otherwise I'd have signed up to RED as I like the idea :)

Good luck!

Good luck if you feel it works for you Steve. 😊❤️

I have to admit I don’t personally get the point when there seems data to say we’re more likely to get injured if we don’t have a rest day after a run day for our first year of running. I know after bigger distances that one knee needs a rest day to settle for me. 😊

If you’re worried about losing the habit of running / exercising, can’t you just write yourself out a plan to tick off each day, with an alternative non-impact option from the gym there if you are at all worried? 😊❤️

Thanks Melinda, I am also doing non impact gym work, every other day (with a short easy run), it's an opportunity to do something like this that doesn't happen very often, but I am trying to be careful, not overdoing it on any given day and listening intently to my body for signs of stress etc.

You are still a relatively new runner.

Take care.

Wise words as ever that I will heed, I did injure myself back in September because I failed to acknowledge the warning signs, hopefully I have learned that lesson and am much more attuned to what my body is telling me.

You sound like you’re being very sensible in the way you’re tackling this. Everyone is different and if it’s working for you, why not ? Personally I’ve just started mixing it up by doing the NHS strength and fitness podcasts on my rest days and I think that’s already helping my running. Respect your legs and enjoy your journey x

Thanks, this isn't a long term thing at the moment, just stuck in a hotel in India with work for the best part of 3 weeks and it struck me as an opportunity to try something a bit different. Enjoy reading your posts by the way, keep it up!
