First Park Run

Running my first park run on Saturday.

I have run a few 10k's but my fitness level has drastically dropped recently.

I am not fast by any means so would be looking for a time of about 40 min to start with.My pb for 10k was 67 mins

Is this an OK time to be aiming for.

Yay! Well done for choosing parkrun, you’ll have a great time. There is no time limit or expectation for parkrun, everyone is welcome, you can walk, run, skip, whatever you like. All parkrun asks of you, is to go along and join in. Some people walk the whole thing.

Don’t forget to register and print off your barcode, have a great time and report back on here. I’m sure you’ll have a good time.

Any time is a good time!

Have you been away from running a while?

Yeah. Been away for about 6 months. Not a particularly strong runner but I'm determined to get back on the horse and stay on it this time.

Parkrun is an opportunity to compete against yourself............there will be people both younger and older than you who are faster and others who are slower.

Just go and enjoy it.

Its not really about the time. But if you are asking then 67mins for 10k would put you at around 32 mins for 5k. If you ran that at Bushey Park then there would have been over 100 runners behind you.

I would suggest that you look at the age adjusted % as more of a guide. mastersathletics.net/index.....
