So, got back on it, running well again, did W5R3 again, felt great....and woke up yesterday morning with plantar fasciitis in my left foot. So fed up although in a way I’m not surprised 7 weeks of running and no injuries it was bound to happen.
So - should I rest completely and for how long? I have been icing it and massaging in Voltarol as well as resting.

Depends on the pain, never try and run through bad pain, best you can do is icing to reduce swelling & pain, try some foot stretches before you run, using a massage roller or rolling a ball under the foot before setting off can help prevent pain, insoles for support & cushioning, specially designed nightsocks can lessen the pain of plantar in the morning, replace running shoes every 500 miles to ensure the best cushioning..
I had that a few years ago before I started running, my yoga teacher taught me some stretches and also exercise to strengthen my foot arches, it gradually went and hasn't come back since.
Might be worth looking into something like that when the immediate pain settles down. I've started doing them again since I started running as a preventative thing.
