So it's week 10 ( they should make this a forever programme and perhaps call it run till you die) and I'm all on my own. No Sarah no programme no sun and no week 9 πŸ’”

At the tenth hour eldest son comes to stay for a few days. He is super fit and been following my progress over my c25k so he came out with me.

Time for me to show off my new found fitness. We did 30 minutes and he was suitably impressed that his old fat dad could do it. He jogged most of the way around and his heartbeat peaked at 99 and recovered in less than 2 minutes.

I really enjoyed the fact though that I could go out with him running - first time ever and so pleased with myself

W10R2

Yesterday we decided on a shorter yet quicker run. We aimed for 3k but to do it in 18mins or less. My previous 1k PB was 6.19. He set the pace and off we went.

First km we did in 6.04 and that took a lot out of me. Second km was 6.13 and I was struggling at this point and had to slow my pace down to catch my breath back. Last km was 6.22 giving me an average of 6.13 my new PB

legs and lungs ache today but all good.

Be glad when he goes home lol. Bloody taskmaster πŸ‘Ή

Enjoy your runs this week

Well done wolvesmad! Sounds like two terrific runs to me! You are inspiring! Maybe give guides runs on the Nike run club a go?

Fabulous stuff Wolvesmad. I'm guessing W10 R3 will be a recovery run after speeding around yesterday.

i too am concerned how i'm going to run without Sarah. I am considering her books on audio so i can still listen to her as i run. Or maybe we should start a group to pay SM to create some guided runs :) :) :)

Run with a buddy and put some weird al yankovic on β€œI think I’m a clone now”. Much better version too πŸ˜‚

Amazing to share runs with the kids... at least yours didn’t try to kill you πŸ˜‚... very impressive stats, congrats on the PB.

Thanks UNM. He would have tried to kill me had I not slowed down lol. It was nice though that we ran together. Also very proud that he takes his fitness seriously and won't have to worry about it when he gets older

How great that you’ve improved in fitness that far that you can run with him though? Sure he’s an adult, established runner and much younger so he can kick your ass for pace, but you could enjoy a run together and will do many more. I bet he’s really proud.

I think he was secretly and surprised too lol

Well done!

You are not alone! There are plenty options and adventures to choose from ;)

- Magic 10

- 30-20-10

- Hills

- Easy 30 min runs

- Nike+ Run Club

- Zombie Runs

- Parkrun

And probably plenty more ;)

Thank you I've never heard of any of them but will have a look next week when my son goes home

I tried 30-20-10 app. Those are 30 aec jog, 20 sec moderate run, 10 sec full apeed, and then rinse and repeat. I loved it!

I am trying to adapt ju-ju's Magic 10 plan (it is on Bridge to 10K Health Unlocked group) to my recent graduation. So I going very slow amd experimenting ;)

There are also NHS podcasts for after C25K graduation, but I haven't tried them yet.

Sounds like you are having lots of fun. I bet he’s really proud of you even if he doesn’t say so out loud. I am a bit worried about the post week 9 wilderness approaching - I think that’s why I had a wobble last week. Decided to just enjoy W9R3 on Saturday and think about it after that. Hope you enjoy the rest of your time with juniorwolvesmad 😁
