Excelled at the last hurdle!!

I finished W9 R3 this morning and carried on until I ran 5k, which was in 37 minutes. I was well chuffed with that - not bad for an old gal! Was it only August when I wrote my first ‘Fell at the first hurdle’ post? I was so bitterly disappointed that I didn’t manage to summon up the courage to run. But I was amazed by the fantastic amount of support I got, and it really did help me carry on. I have been so inspired and supported by complete strangers to me - this forum is a very powerful tool! Thank you for being with me all the way through 👐🏻👐🏻👐🏻🏃🏻‍♀️🍾🍫

Thank you Jogunlikely, I am so proud of me too 💪🏃🏻‍♀️🏅🏆. I remember you told me ‘This is your journey’ and that made me think more positively- I did make it my journey, and now I’ve arrived. 🎓

Congratulations... that first practice run may have been just a few weeks ago, but it’s ancient history in your running journey. Great job you’ve done. Extra congrats on the 5k... mighty fine time there. Enjoy celebrating your huge achievement and those consolidation runs.

Thank you so much. I’m going to celebrate this evening (it’s ok, it’s rest day tomorrow). I’ll Stay practicing my 5k, then go and watch Parkrun on Saturday to get the gist of what goes on. Then go for it for real at the end of the month.

Your local one may still need volunteers, that’s a good way of having a look... but then you are committed if it’s chucking it down 😂

I’m not going to my local one, that’s far to hilly! Whoever said Suffolk was flat, was lying. I’ll go over to Kesgrave Parkrun, as that’s where I’ve completed my programme and I know every bump and each blade of grass personally 😃

That sounds like a plan... The one I’ll end up doing is hilly, so I’m starting on a flat one. Neither are my nearest!
