W5R3...second attempt, and cracked it!

I promised I'd post how I got on after Saturday's run when I didn't make it all the way through the 20 minute run so, here I am.

I made it! Lovely weather today, flat ground, just the right amount of layers and we have success! Just so you all know, I used the songs on the podcast to keep me motivated, six songs seemed less than twenty minutes, and the mantra was" just to the end of THIS song.." and I think it worked, (especially as some of them are boringly familiar on the podcast now!)

Thank you everyone for your amazing support and tips , I'm so glad I found this community!

See you on the other side of W6, hopefully in about 7days!

That's awesome! Repeating it too will stand you in good stead for week 6 as well as it's all stamina building. Be careful on week 6 though, it can be notoriously underestimated and a few have slipped up there (including myself). Just keep it steady, approach it like you're still doing 20 and you'll smash that one too!

Congrats! That's a real landmark run.

Thank you! Yes, it does indeed feel like a landmark. I've never run for so long in my life, I was a sprinter in my youth!

Great job today! Slow and steady into week 6, that first one looks easier than it is... but with good pacing you’ll get it.

Thank you. I am indeed going very slowly, I'm almost overtaken by Mums with pushchairs and dogwalkers!
