Well I did it, never thought I would!!!! I cannot believe it! I can run without stopping for 30 minutes, oh my god!
Just need to speed up gradually so I manage 5k, only disappointment is I have actually gained a 1 lb in the last 3 weeks which is so bloody annoying as I am at Weight watchers and had the stupid idea in my head that the weight would be dropping off me ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Anyway onwards and upwards, inbetween my weekly runs now I will be adding swimming, so things can only get better.
Not bad for a 52 year old couch potato ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Thank you for everyone's help and support on this forum, you have all been brilliant ๐
PS. If I have managed this, anyone can xxxxxxx

Whoop whoop whoop ๐พ๐พ๐คฉ congratulations, it's a great achievement.
Don't be thrown off by not losing weight due to running, actually I stopped weighing myself at around week 5, or I would have stopped running.!!! but I must be the fittest I have been in decades ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
Weight loss slows with muscle development and sometimes even goes backwards... thatโs not a bad thing... youโre fitter and healthier than you were at the start, and weight is in some ways irrelevant to fitness. I bet youโve toned up and lost some inches though!
Running burns a pounds worth of fat in calories every 35 miles or so, so while it helps, it isnโt a weight loss activity as such.... you can not outrun a bad diet. Muscle development will plateau at some point and then you should see losses similar or better than others at WW.
Also... 1 pound really is nothing... without being rude, I can get rid of a pound with a trip to the loo, I can put it on again with a mug of tea! Hydration needed for running probably makes you a couple of pounds heavier... so +1 really is 0.
The scales are only one indicator of how well your new healthy self is doing... youโll get to the goal weight... thereโs no rush, being healthy and fit enough to maintain it is much more important.
Congratulations ๐๐คธโโ๏ธ๐๐คธโโ๏ธ๐ on graduating and your new future as a runner!
Itโs very true what many have already said, no weight loss as such for quite a while but change in body shape/condition. A couple of weeks before my graduation I bought a pair of tight-fitting non-stretchy jeans ๐ that were a bit too tight for comfort. They are now super comfy and I can move quite freely in them. Even need to use a belt. That is my โtape measureโ ๐โโ๏ธ
