After my first run on pavements on Monday I was really achy and tired and had a bit of a niggle in my knee.
I don’t know why, but the knee niggle sent me in to a complete panic overnight thinking ‘oh no, I’m not going to graduate after I have come so far’. (I had a knee injury week 2 that set me back 2 weeks - but this is not the same and nothing like as bad).
Even though it was a lovely morning for it today I just wasn’t feeling it. I did the full run - slowly mind you - and came home without the usual high.
My plan is to take an extra rest day before starting week 9 and am thinking maybe it’s time for some new shoes now to cope with running on pavements.
Or am I just consoling myself with the thought of new shoes 😁

It’s a shame we can’t have the high every time but it does make us appreciate them when they do appear. Congratulations on getting through your first ‘bad’ run.
As for new shoes - well there’s always a ‘reason’ to be found for getting new ones 😀
One of the many things you learn during C25K is that it's not always plain sailing. The important thing is to ignore the gremlins in your head and get out there anyway. Today I didn't feel like going out running but came back glowing with a new PB - that could be you on your next run
