Good morning everyone...

I can hardly believe that yet another week has flown by and that here I am...... ready to bring us all together, in the What is Your Week chat.

The Autumn days are here and bringing new joys and new challenges in turn.

I am back out running, getting over a few aches and pains and looking forward to a week of running at the Coast... weather permitting! The chilly morning runs here, bring their own delights and provide as my Nan used to say, " exercise for the eyes".

Wherever our location and whatever the weather, we can, hopefully, find the opportunity to get out and run.

Just stay warm and run safely.

Embrace the season and enjoy!

With numbers increasing, it is great, to have a little fun post ,so we can see who is on which week, of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.

We can support, encourage and generally help each other, in a positive and friendly way, with no thought of comparison.

Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.

If you have just graduated, also, this will be a great place to keep you motivated, and there is always the Quest on the Bridge to 10k forum as well for Graduates.

So, come and join the fun.... Let us know how it is going :)

It's week 7 for me starting this evening. I can't believe that 5 minutes into w6r3 I just got into a great rhythm and the next 20 minutes just flew by. No doubt there will be harder runs coming up but if I know now how good it can feel which will give me motivation.

I know it's been said many a time before but if I can then I am convinced anybody can. Happy running everybody.

Huge well done.. The longer runs are perfect for relaxing into :) Start slow and stay slow.. just let the newly forming running legs find their own happy pace:)

I finished the programme yesterday 😀 I’m way off 5k but I’m so proud of what I’ve achieved. When I started out I struggled with 1 minute and now here i am plodding along for half an hour! For anyone starting out keep going and be proud every time you complete another run and if you have a day where it doesn’t go to plan, don’t worry, learn from it and keep trying because you will feel amazing when you finally manage it and move on to the next one!

Massive well done you... it all goes on... and we will be right there with you!

It's beautifully cold and I am back out there! :)

Revisiting weeks 7-9 cos I like the company of the app lol, taking my dog with me and every three outings the family husky comes along too (who has THE shortest attention span).

A friend moved back into the area this year and is a serious aspiring ultra and fell runner. It put me off during the summer really. Hours at a time of listening to talk about comparisons, kit, technicalities, timings, distances, diets, regularly not being able to afford food because of having bought trainers or £300 coats etc ... 😑

Anyway 👌🏼 just me and the dog/s, avoiding such convos more than once a fortnight and it's all good again.

Honestly still pleased with myself for being able to run to the burger van and back 😂

Ramble over :p thanks!

Morning Oldfloss and all......

I started the c25k 4 weeks ago and can’t believe how motivating it is compared to trying to plan yourself. I’ve just joined this forum too.... such a great idea!

At first going for a ‘run’ was a chore to be done... now I’m getting fitter it’s becoming not just a pleasure but essential to my mental health.

😀👋👍

So, I have moved onto week 2 and the running still seems to be ok as far as the knee is concerned!

Did the first run on a treadmill as I was away from home and there was a gym in the hotel, but went out this morning for a windswept 2nd run. Should be able to get started on week 3 before my next physio appointment on Monday.....fingers crossed!

Week 9 this week for me. The big finish! I've just done run 1 and covered 5.22 km. Just got Thursday to go, and planning to graduate by running my local Parkrun on Saturday. This has been a great journey - on the home straight now!

Go gently... all the way to that podium:)

I finished Week 6 Run 3 yesterday and plan to do Week 7 Run 1 tomorrow morning weather permitting. It was freezing so I will wear a light jacket over 2 long-sleeved running tops. I'll be trying out an old pair of on ear headphones tomorrow as I'm fed up with headphones breaking mid-run or falling out of my ears. It's really distracting. Now that the runs are continuous, it's a lot easier as I just need to stick to the time. I'll see how it goes.

Hey. I had the same issues reference earphones. I suggest Bluetooth ones that have the little hooks that go round the outside of your ears (If that makes sense) I have these and they are great

Thanks. I have tried this style in the past so if the on ear headphones don't work I'll try this style again.

Hi! I started wk7 today, it was tough but I got through it somehow (mind over matter I guess!!). It seemed unthinkable 6 weeks ago that I’d be able to run this far without stopping!

I'm on Wk9, did run 2 today so I'm looking forward to graduating on Friday. I run outside and don't go fast but I cover just over 4km in 30 mins at mo which I'm pleased with, considering I started from absolutely nothing in August. What a great programme!

Just heading out for week 7 r2. I’m amazed I’m managing to run for 25 minutes at a time! This programme is fab! I was running up to 10k easily a few years ago and after some serious health issues I’m just easing my way back into it. C25k and Pilates have got me trusting my own body again, and my dogs are loving getting back out for a run. Aiming to get to my first park run once I get to week 9, slow & steady all the way xx

Oldfloss profile image
OldflossAdministratorGraduate in reply to Wenders3

All sounding extremely positive.... and the dogs are enjoying it too... win- win:)

Week 9 for me, so nearly there, sad that I’m not actually covering the whole 5k distance yet but at least this leaves me with another target to work towards once I finish.
