Well, I'm feeling very proud of myself. Wasn't sure if I was going to make it out today, as it's turned a bit cold and wet, but a sunny spell persuaded me. I've completely lost my voice, but feel OK. Not sure if it's down to performing in a choir on Friday, followed by trying to hold conversations over a band at a party yesterday, or maybe the grandchildren staying last week (most likely!). I even managed to put a bit of a spurt on near the end. As I'm no spring chicken at 71, I've been pacing myself and only did 3k in my 30 mins, but at least I did it, and am hoping to achieve the final two runs before setting off for a tour of Chile on Sunday. In fact when I started C25K, I'd hoped to finish it by then, and it looks as though I'm on target. When I get back I'll look at increasing 3k to a bit more, and even doing a park run. This forum has certainly helped me keep at it. It's brilliant! As has Jo Whiley with her encouragement.

Thank you, Uncle Wiggy. Yes, I'm lucky - a pretty good life, including good health. I was wondering if I can run in Chile - I'm going to pack my gear, but I'm not sure what potential dangers there might be lurking! I'll ask the tour leader. I want to ensure I return in one piece!

Well done Janfran I also done Week 9 run 1 this morning, very pleased with myself, didn’t think I would get this far, also never quite made the 5k but we can both build on what we have done, so keep it going and have a lovely trip

It's good isn't it, Sprintmaster? Well done you, too. Yes, 3k is OK, isn't it? It's always good to have the next goal to aim for.

Yes now looking forward increasing the distance, but as long as we run for 30 minutes the further we will start running naturally , so there is no need to put ourselves under pressure the hard work is done, keep it going

Absolutely true. I found today's 30 minute run easier than the W8 28 minute runs, so I'm hoping that will continue. It proves the programme works! And no pressure....

Great job finding that window and running!

I was in the school choir and don’t remember actually singing, but I lip synced like a pop star... I was ahead of my time!

The other week on the radio was one of the 500 parkruns club... he’s 82, and started running in his 70s... I’m guessing he isn’t on the sub17 men list anywhere, he just runs and loves it. 3k is 3k, 30 minutes is 30 minutes... it’s about health and fun... and you’re doing both... great job.

Well done Janfran! I’m a ‘senior’ too and I graduated about a month ago with a distance of about 3.7km. I’ve kept up the 3 runs a week and I can now run 4km. I’ve done two parkruns as well, which I love. Keep on enjoying the running - you’ve done brilliantly 😉

I am very impressed. I am due to do this run on Wednesday and am very competitive with my self. I think we are all doing amazingly. Have fun in Chile. I just did some running on holiday in Spain and it was great - although I did get some funny looks. Running is an evening thing in the town I was in.

Well done for running in Spain, despite the funny looks. It'll be interesting to see what the running opportunities are in Chile. I fear I may chicken out and have a two-week break. Good luck on Wednesday. I'm hoping to do W9R2 on Wednesday, and finish with the last on Friday - and graduate!! Hurrah! But maybe I shouldn't count my chickens........
