1st Park Run!

I did it! The first ever 5k I have run in my life! Including a horrible hilly bit three times. I didn't stop or walk though. And everyone was so lovely and reassuring. I enjoyed the Halloween costumes too. My time was 35.31, so really proud!

Great job... congratulations on that 5k and the PB that comes with it! I assume you’ll be back there soon.

I don't know if I'll do it regularly, because I usually take my son to football at that time. But maybe I can alternate with my husband. I'm sure I will do it again soon.

Although he's just worked out that I'm in the bottom 15% which doesn't feel that good!

The top 60% at least have been doing this a lot longer than you!

Also, and more importantly, it’s not about running it’s about YOU running.

Aren't husbands great!?! Remember that it is the "bottom" 15% of the people who feel able to do a park run. A LOT of people wouldn't even considering running! I have yet to brave a daylight run-much prefer hiding in the dark away from people too!.

That's true! I must remember it like that!

Did you do today too? It was so cold - it was my first ever morning run!

Yes! Beat my time from last week by over 2 minutes! I was so pleased! Freezing though!!!

SubterraneanAlien profile image

Amazing! You must be sub-30min then?!

31.05 today, 33.11 last last so still 66 seconds to go! Managed exactly 39 minutes in the week in my normal route (with no hills!) so I’m heading in the right direction! Xx

Well done! That’s a great time, especially with hills! I’ve done 1 park run and loved it

Great stuff. Well done. It sounds like my local Parkrun in Luton which is three and a bit laps with a hilly bit on every lap and then again just at the finish.

That’s a brilliant time. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

It wasn't actually my local parkrun today. I'm at my in-laws and ran with my sister-in-law. Next time I'll do my local one, on the seafront if it's not too wet (nice and flat).

That sounds much more civilised, flat path and the seaside. I'm jealous.

You should be really proud of your time, that is a brilliant achievement in such a short period of time, how long ago is it that 90 sec was almost impossible???
