Well I finished Week 9 Run 3 as planned on New Years Day. A little over 5k in 30 minutes which is encouraging. But I do have long legs so a natural advantage perhaps?
All I can say is I'm a little sad it's over. It's been quite a journey and I have really enjoyed the plan and seeing myself get stronger and fitter. But this is just the beginning I guess. For now I just plan to keep at 5k until my legs get more used to it (my calves have been complaining a little on my rest days!), see how my time improves, then who knows? But I will need a new goal of some kind to keep me motivated.
Happy new year to everyone. If you're still working through the plan, keep at it! And I hope there will be a whole bunch of c25k new starters with fresh New Years Resolutions.
Cheers

Nice one Linford, but your journey is only just beginning! Congratulations on graduating - and in 30 mins too! A bonus indeed. I felt there was a bit of an anti climax when I graduated, but I decided to focus on my stamina for a while. Get used to running 5K's and work on your time too, cos it keeps things interesting.
Gradually you can take the leap to 10K but don't rush it. Take your time and get that body used to running three times per week.
Thank guys. I don't think I'm ready to try running much further yet. Mentally as much as anything. I fancy trying Park Runs though to mix things up a bit
Fantastic Linford. The mythical 30min 5k for your graduation run! You've just joined a very small and very exclusive band of runners (not one I'm a member of I hasten to add) Many congratulations
Congratulations! Well done! I still can't manage 5km in 30 minutes so like you I am going to blame the length of my legs, although my legs are on the short side lol
Just enjoy your running and if you really need a challenge try entering a 5km race or two. But be warned like the running itself races can be addictive too!
I finished my couch to 5k on Xmas day and have progressed onto the couch to 5K plus podcasts that help you get fitter and faster - I've done 2 of these now and they are amazing!! Which Ap are you using to track distance? Is this with Laura? Well done for finishing xx
Well done Nadiakoo! Its a great achievement. Still waiting for my badge though :-). I'll definitely give those 5k plus podcasts a go.
I already had Endomondo on my phone so I used that. It's not specifically a running app but seems to do the job ok. There are lots to chose from so I might find something else. Any recommendations?
Well done Nadia,Congratulations on this fantastic achievement ! Have you requested your Graduation Badge ?
On the top of this page on the grey bar, there is a button called " Posts" if you click on that, it will take you to the page where there are Pinned posts in Blue. If you click on the post saying " Request Graduate Badge " You then just write a post saying you have completed, and that's it . You too Linford , don't know if you have already done this xxx
