Hi guys, no parkrun today, tomorrow heralds the first of my official 5k sign ups, I’m falling between dreading it and looking forward to it, I guess it’s just the nerves building up.
I’ve rejoined the running club near me, that’ll start on Monday, just a quick throw out, prior to an event does any body else get mystery aches? ie calves , feet and such, I just think it could be tension and worry, I’m trying to break it under 30 mins, it’s a very flat route through the concrete jungle of Belfast. Anyhow, today is a super lazy rest day, doggy walking and a few stretches. I’ll let you all know how it goes , happy running all of you lovelies out there xx

I was the same with mixed feelings before my first ‘proper’ 5k race last Sunday but on the day I loved it. Ran a slightly slower time than my average, partly because I hadn’t done so much running the two weeks before and partly because the start was crowded so that slowed me down. But it was great fun!
Thanks Arthur, I’ll try to pace myself slowly then build up, I’ve a tendency to go like a hare out of a trap, I’ll need to reel myself in!! I think the thought of a frothy cappuccino and scone or a big Ulster fry will power me round it rightly, I’ll run it to enjoy it,
Thanks cheeky!! I’ll post results as soon as I know them, they’re usually posted in Monday’s Belfast telegraph the next day, but it’s been 4 yrs since I did this run so I imagine they might text your result, thanks for your support 👍
