I understand that a few people on week 1 have situations similar to what you experienced on that first of 7*1 minute runs 'CT5K' ,it's just your body reacting to your new fitness routine, persevere and run very slowly on run 2 of week 1 😊

Don’t panic, Mr Mannering ! Run 1:1 is where you set your bench line and most people tend to rush at it too hard and too fast. Take a rest day and then have another go. It’s a learning run, and if, as I did, you learn that you’re not ready to run and will have to begin as a walker, at least you know where you are. Enjoy your journey x

Welcome, well done for having a go... it’s the hardest run to pace... go a bit slower and you’ll get there.

Well done for starting the program. I know that starting exercise is not easy, but you made the decision to start. Just keep at it , at your own pace. It is not a race. It does become easier, keep the motivation going. Good luck .

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

If you follow the pacing advice in the guide, you will find it much easier.

Enjoy your journey.

On my W1R1 I didn’t run at all, I only walked. I was too scared to run! I’m now on W7 and running (albeit slowly) for 25 minutes. Well done you for actually doing some running - you’re off that couch 👍🏼👍🏼👐🏻👐🏻

My first run on thurs I really struggled. I think my body was in shock! My second run earlier today went so well and I felt great after. I think I was probably trying to run too quickly first time. Stick with it. You might surprise yourself next time.

Fret ye not!☺If any of us thought we were "fit"and "able to run" we wouldn't need this programme :)

Just take it slowly and steadily at your individual pace and all will be well :)
