I thought I was fit but apparently not, harder than I thought, trying to find flat roads to run without hills

True. You can save hills for later on Sommat to look forward to 😁👍

Don’t worry - 1:1 is your benchline run. Use it to help you set realistic targets and strategies for yourself. Most people try to go too hard and fast the first time out. Embrace your inner snail, as we all say here, and aim to enjoy the next one. Happy running ! 😀
I did W1R2 this morning and have decided that hills are not on the agenda for a while. I used the local park for my R1 and am lucky to have a disused airfield close to home so have some flat options. Well done and keep it going

I also did week 1 run 1 today. There were a few hills but only gentle and as it was only 60 seconds I just about coped! Previously when I’ve tried C25K I’ve jumped in at week 4 because whilst I am overweight and pretty unfit, I can cope with it. However, I never progress, so this time I’m doing it properly. Hoping I can carve out some time to make sure I do 3 runs per week. Good luck with run 2!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

Enjoy your journey.

It’s also amazing to realise that roads you ‘thought’ were flat have a very deceptive incline! Good luck with the programme and congratulations on getting over that first run.
