I totally lack motivation when it comes to exercise - weigh day tomorrow and so far I am 1st 11lb down since the summer. I'd like to loose another 2st and know that this program will help. Planning on W1R2 on Thursday morning 😁

Try to forget about the words - exercise and diet. Replace them with the words active lifestyle and nutrition. This may sound pedantic - but words do matter. Exercise and diets never last long and don't work. They are something quite specific which we set out to do for a reason. But we eventually tire of them and don't keep them up. But adopting (as a habit just like cleaning our teeth in the morning) both an "active lifestyle" and "good nutrition" does last --- however even then it does take some time and effort to turn these into daily habits.

Ok... first welcome. This programme takes discipline and some determination... you’re well on the way to two stones down, that’s brilliant, and it also took both qualities I just mentioned... you have all the mental tools that you need for this.

Discipline: do what it says you have to do, no more, no less, and schedule your runs... no excuses, a life crisis may mean a rescheduling, a CBA day though, that’s not good. Drive yourself through the first half of this. You can do it.

Determination: you have been on a weight loss journey and you’ve won the battles against the supermarkets and their favourite tricks of buy one get one free and discounted but oh so unhealthy junk food. Here you’ll start a run sometimes and it will suck, it even happens to sir mo, and you’ll need to plug that determination in and get to the end of it. The next run will be better. You’ll also hear your doubting self say you can’t do it, you’re too slow, you’re not strong enough, you can’t complete the run so quit now. Mr Doubt is a liar... Mr Doubt can’t do it, he’s too negative to succeed at anything... tell him to shut it... you can, you’re strong and you will. Mr Doubt doesn’t know what it takes, because he never tries... kick his ass.

Enjoy your journey, post here often (we will catch you when you fall, we will cheer you on when you don’t) trust the plan (some of the jumps look scary, they’re not) and believe in yourself.

You CAN do this... by Christmas you can run for 30 minutes. So... let’s do this, we will run every step with you.

I’m doing W1R2 on Thursday too! I’ve lost just over a stone in last 6 week and given up smoking. I’m trying to get myself fit and healthy. I turn 53 next week and I need to change.

Wow Shelly! That’s two victories before you get to C25K... very well done and run one is down, that’s the toughest. I hope you’re very proud of yourself right now.

Thanks, I did brisk walk the 4th 60s run!! But surprised I didn’t drop down dead before that 😂😂

That run nearly stopped me in the first 60... I swear it tried to kill me 8 times! So, you’ve started this better than I did. Just keep the pace down and you’ll be fine... you’ll get it tomorrow.

Hey Squirt2510 welcome to this fabulous community. I think Unfitnomore eloquently said all that needs to said. Listen for he is a wise man 👳‍♂️.

Post often, I think you'll find it helps x It was certainly got this committed couch potato off her cushion. I've gone from hating physical exertion to being miffed when I can't run, all down to c25k app and the forum.

Wishing you the very best of luck with the rest of your C25k journey 💪🏃‍♀️
