Welcome Mike. We all were there, struggling with those first runs. Keep it slow and stick with the plan and you'll be amazed where you are in 9 weeks or so.

That will soon change with this fantastic programme Mike, if you want it to! Good luck!

Welcome.... this is the best place ever! You will, if you follow the programme, be totally amazed at what you achieve!

We will support, encourage, cajole, sympathise and even push you a little:)

Keep posting, take it slow and take it steady.... read around the forum too, you will find new tips and advice, helpful pointers and really become part of this great running family!

Take your journey at your pace... it is hard when you start, but.... if you do it your way. no matter how slow you go. you will do it.

I, like so many of us, was like you at the start.. running for 1 minute... phew, how on earth will I ever run for 30 minutes... but nine weeks later.. yep... no problem... ! The posts about this are many... so have confidence in yourself, you have done the hardest bit... you have started! :)

I feel your pain.....I was like you, and could run for 30 minutes on a treadmill, but you put a piece of tarmac under my running shoes and a minute seemed a lifetime. Now on Week 5 of C25K and 5 minutes isn't a huge problem, and actually looking forward to increasing the time next week. (My God I've changed!!!) Keep up the good work though

C25k teaches you to run for 30 minutes. It takes you by the hand and leads you through the process. Many hundreds of thousands of people, of all ages, have successfully completed the programme and are running regularly as a result, many of whom are members here ☺ including me 😊

Yes the program is great, but this forum is wonderful. Post your highs and lows, and you'll receive great advice, encouragement and support. Be warned, time flies when reading all the posts......

Hi I am doing the C25K. I have been walking long distance for a few years.

Just how long can 60 seconds be?! Very, very long! Those w1 runs are really tough but progress on this programme feels quite quick. Stick with it and you will definitely manage a 30 min run. You might well be a long distance runner in the making.
