Running away from my usual group on my own

Hi all,

This is my first post, this evening I ran Week 7 run 1, 25 mins in total. I. Am worried as I will be away staying in a hotel this Wednesday and will miss the support I have had in the group c25k runs.

The hotel does have a gym but I have not run on a treadmill for over 20 years. I don't know the area well enough to run outside.

Any suggestions on how I can keep motivated, without the group support I would have given up a long time ago.

Thank you in advance for any tips

We’re pretty good at cheering if that helps!

Is there a running club where you’re going? Maybe they have a training session and would welcome a guest?

Failing that... if you’re away for a few days maybe have an extra rest day? Wouldn’t do any harm to your progress.

Or just fire up a dreadmill and suck it up for 25 minutes.

Any run is a good run. As UFNM says, crank up the treadmill and give it a go. Run as long as you can, and when you get tired / bored (you will) just give it up. Then you can go back to your group and continue with the plan. C25K is pretty prescriptive but you can get away with the odd indiscretion.

Hi

I ran when away twice (now on week 7) by checking out where the local park/playing field was and lapping that

Most places have one close by

Good luck

Found the treadmill easier but must admit it was boring. Prefer the outside with the additional challenges it presents with inclines and declines and weather elements.
