W6R1 - PMA (Positive Mental Attitude)

Had a challenging few days. My partner was admitted to hospital with some kind of serious infection but not quite sure what it is yet?! Therefore it has been quite a challenging couple of days. I wasn't sure I would make it for my run today and actually when I got home from hospital I just wanted to have a nap but I knew that a run would be the best thing I could do.

Completed W6R1 and used this run to work on my technique and tried to speed up the final minute of each interval run a bit I even managed to do 2.5 minutes faster at the end and completed 3k today. As expected my head felt significantly better when I got home - so much so I tidied the flat, scrubbed the kitchen and bathroom, did three loads of washing, changed the sheets and wrote a plan for my next essay.

The benefits to running really astound me and I think that's what pushes me forwards, I have good mental well-being in general but if i am feeling stressed/sad/worried etc it really gives me the time and space to run it out.

Fingers crossed W6R2 happens when my partner is home and everything is less up in the air!

Hope you have all had a great weekend :-D

Thinking of you guys and hoping your partner is ok sooner than later.

You’re amazing to come back from the hospital and take on the notorious W6R1, kick its butt and then get so much done. Hopefully your next run will be on schedule, enjoy it.
