I've come so far in this running journey been told by the Dr not to run until physio as it's looking like runner's knee. What do people do i need my running fix. I've been told I can walk but not far. Feel so down hearted at the moment. Any info on what I can do to get back running again. Only been told today deverstated I am.

If you can't walk far, you could maybe try something else, like swimming or cycling

Personally, I took ibuprofen and ran through it. That’s a risk for you to decide for yourself. My physio friend said I just needed strength. They were right. It went within a week or so.

That nearly ended my stellar running career. I never messed with my knee again. Or risked anything. ;)

I had pain in my ankle / achilles and did need to rest it fully for about 10 days, used Voltarol on it which is ibuprofen based gel, really seemed to help reduce the inflammation and soreness, you are best placed to judge whether you can run through it as Tasha99 suggests or you play safe and wait to see a physio, if it were me, I might be tempted to do a little jig but be prepared to stop if the pain gets worse

I ran through knee pain and was awarded with serious injury and no running for nearly three months. I was so proud of my clever decision making. Wait to hear what physio has got to say, stay patient and look after yourself.

I do suffer from Achilles, not confirmed as yet heel spur. So I'm thinking better be safe than sorry and wait for physio to confirm this. Do want the chance of getting back out there. Instead of getting out there and doing more damage then being told I can never run again. But I just love the fix I get from each run I do. I even put my running into the muddy run race for life. Now if someone told me last year I'd do all this I'd laff in their face. It's helped with toning my body helped with weight loss and especially with my lungs as I'm asthmatic it's done wonders for me. So I do want to run again but I feel like 💩 at the moment. With a hopefully a minor setback. Don't want it to be a major problem if you get me. Also running is free x thank you for all your replies and opinions x
