Hi everyone! How are we all doing? :)

I desperately want to get fit and lose weight. (My username is what my granddaughter calls me - I have red hair) :)

Any tips on which support bra to buy? This is what lets my running efforts down because despite wearing a sports bra it hurts so much at every step and I can't carry on.

Welcome

I’m not equipped to help with bras, but good luck on the programme, you can do it.

hmm well I think you are more blessed across the chest than me, reading between the lines. When you say sports bra's are they the high impact ones you are wearing? I believe they are a more snug fit. failing that it may be worth going to a sports shop and speaking to one of their people. there will be the right one out there for you don't worry :) you will be able to do this.

What you need is a specialist. Search yell.com for lingerie suppliers in your area and phone before going to explain what you need. A good shop will be reassuring, professional, will measure you competently and encourage you to try on before buying. It sounds as though your current one is too small. If the straps are adjustable, loosen them a little in the meantime and that should help a bit. Hope you get relief soon !

Thank you! I've just ordered one from Amazon Prime specially designed for running. So with any luck I'll be starting tomorrow :)

Shock absorber def good

M&S also good and come with useful detachable shoulder straps that make getting on and off easier. Do not go for their pink and black bras - got stuck half in / half out, was in changing room for 15 mins initially sobbing with laughter and later fear that I’d need to call for help once I’d dislocated a shoulder getting it back over my head!

Sports bras are basically hell on Earth - they need to be tight fit to give you support but as a result sooooo difficult to get on. I find the standard bra strap style far easier than some of the over the head sports back style
