I’m so annoyed with myself, I’m stuck on W6 R3

... I set out to complete it on Thursday & I absolutely hate to admit it, but it beat me, so I walk / ran some & finished off just walking.

I think it’s massively knocked my confidence, I was in such a good routine & eagerly waiting for each run day, however, since Thursday I’ve been sat on the couch ... I’ve not really cross trained & I’ve eaten badly too. What is wrong with me?! 🤷‍♀️

I’m so annoyed with myself, I’ve seriously loved every run up until now... I think the fear is not being able to complete the 25mins.

I’m thinking of restarting At Wk5, but then I’m thinking what if I can’t even do that now 🤦‍♀️

Someone please tell me to pull myself together get my trainers on & go run!

I’m obviously incapable of listening to my own positive advice right now🙆‍♀️

Don't worry, there's nothing wrong with you, bad runs just seem to happen sometimes. It may simply be down to pace - my W7R1 run was hell, I got through it but I had to dig so deep and it hurt me.

Pick it back up after a days rest, watch your pace (and keep watching it!) and I bet you'll be back enjoying running.

Thank you ClimberKB, that’s great advice! It could of been the pace, I’ll definitely keep a close eye on that when I go out next! Well done with your achievements so far! 🙌

Thanks. Remember you're two-thirds of the way through it now - that's no small achievement already. Trying putting a list of the runs up on the wall and tick them off as you do them - and include all the ones you've done already - it's very satisfying to track progress and shows clearly how far you've come already.

Ok... calm and breathe!

You did 20, then you did 5, 8, 5 with 6 minutes brisk (24 minutes) and then 10 and 10 with 3 walking (23)

Those intervals were tricky too, but you did them. Many have stumbled on W6R1, you didn’t.

Lack of exercise over the weekend could actually help here, your body is rested, your legs are ready to go. More so than ever go nice and slow, then slow it down.

I think Thursday sounds like one of those sucky runs we all get... the next one is generally much better.

Lace up and go do it... slowly! Tell yourself as you go through warm up that you can do it... over and over... drown out the negative thoughts.

It could of just been a bad run, it wasn’t my usual route & I didn’t feel confident.

I’m starting to think just give it another go... before jumping back to repeat previous runs.

I have a love hate with this process. W4 R1 was great but then I was awful with the next two runs. Today I did W5R1 and I really enjoyed it. Carry on you will be fine. Maybe try a new area to run in 🤷🏽‍♀️

Hey Hidden ...don’t let it knock you’re confidence...look how far you’ve come & remember that first week when you didn’t think you would even get to week 2/3 but look at you now?! On week 6!!!!! You have just had a practice run that’s all, bag the stamina & the mileage & try again...you don’t have to repeat any previous runs, you’ve done those already & you are def capable of doing this one...we’re all rooting for you x

Love the ‘practice run’ I’m so determined to do this, but over the weekend I’ve just not felt myself & it’s put so much doubt in my mind.

I’m back in the game now & gonna go for this run now, well rested with a fresh out look & positive vibes from your lovely comment! thank you 😊

Doubting yourself is natural & something that most of us have done at some point but you need to quickly put those thoughts out of your mind & concentrate on what you CAN do not what you think you can’t do x

Ah Dreams!! Don’t be too harsh! You’ve done so well to get here. Some runs are not that great, this one belongs in that history book, but do know that delays are not denials. You’ve done 18 runs!! That’s a massive achievement! 🤩Remember when we were running for just 60 seconds in week one? This is not a fail, it’s to be celebrated. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 You went out and gave it all you’ve got. Enjoy your rest day and enjoy knowing that you know what to expect and just take it really slow. W6 is the one that was my most challenging too! But you can do it!! 🤗💪🏽❤️

You’ll be fine Dreams. I couldn’t finish W7R1, l just reran it but changed a couple of things, the most important one run for time & not distance, ie 5k. Then l just repeated Oldflosses mantra, “slow & steady”. I wish you well with whatever run you chose to do, just do it!! 👍🏻

Forget that crap run we all get them, the gremlins won that time. You can totally do it dreams, see what you’ve done so far and believe in yourself. Slow it right down and go get it! - no pressures on distances, or pace etc just you and 25 minutes of slow jogging. You can totally do it.
