Well that’s week four done and over with😂 I didn’t even want to swear at Michael today which I think is progress. I take my wins where I can get them. I also did something I didn’t think I was capable of. The sprint finish!!! So dear old MJ said I was down to my last minute and I took off like a bat out of hell and then I found another reserve and ran faster still. It was surprisingly easier to run at speed...however as soon as I dropped to a walk I was sucking in air like it was my first ever run. But I really liked the sprint! This concerns me. Who the hell am I right now? No one should like sprints.
Also I happened to be running behind Duck today and I notice he literally runs on his tip toes the entire time. He looks ever so dainty compared to my Godzilla heavy foot falls... but he’s been complaining that his lower legs hurt and I was wandering if this might be why?

Toe running does work the calf muscles harder, and can cause more leg pains in general. Some runners deliberately run that way every now and then, and most elite athletes run that way in races, so nothing wrong with it. In fact, I read that all children run that way, starting to shift to the bad gait heel strikes somewhere around secondary school. Since reading that I watched the kids running towards me at junior parkrun... not one heel strike to be seen!
Oooh I can’t wait to tell him he runs like a 10 year old! 😂🤣😂🤣😂 ok fine I’ll tell him he runs like an athlete, he needs a confidence boost any way.🦆 can run!! He struggles with pacing though so he usually follows mine. Pretty sure he could do it faster but is then wiped out after. Should we be be sprinting at the end of every run now?
