So, I've graduated and been doing my consolidation runs all over the place and next week I'll be in France doing some more. Howeverrrr I'm thinking...... when I get back I think I'll try a park run BUT do I have to register and organise or do I just show up on the day?
Any tips for the next part of my running experience gratefully received 😀

You need to register and print your barcodes... remember to take at least one with you. No need to tell them you’re coming though. Get there for 8:45, there’s usually a new runners briefing. Get yourself towards the back of the runners for the start and go at your usual pace, don’t try and keep up with anyone, you may get into that with someone who goes off slow but has a fast middle and end mile. Other than that, do your stuff and enjoy it.
Ok... what I was looking at was the first guy over the line... unknown means no barcode.
First timer in the PB column means it was his first time at that parkrun... he’s run 3 parkruns in total. The PBs on that page are for Glossop, and may be slower than someone’s absolute PB, which can be found by clicking on their name and then the “see all parkruns by this runner” link. I only tend to look at my friends stats, none of whom run Glossop parkrun... I’ve never been there either 😂
It happened to us once. My husband ran home after he’d passed the finish line and picked up his token . He got back just in time so that we could both get scanned. He deserved his full English breakfast after that! 🏃♂️👏. He now has one of the small barcodes attached to one of his running shoes.
Oh no! I can only imagine the disappointment! Poor husband! I double and triple check every time I go! I’m going to get one of the wristbands too I think. 😀
Register online and print out your barcodes (there are spares - you only need one on the day). Note you need the physical barcode and not on your phone. Then simply turn up and run! 😀 Hand the barcode in for scanning with your finish token (which you’ll be handed) and you’ll get your official time emailed through later in the day.
Thanks Oldfloss. I have now registered! Will need to sort out a date for when I get back from my holiday for my first one. Then if park runs are anything like running I won’t have a free Saturday forever 😂
