Weight loss..
Well the bad news is that you don't really lose much weight through exercise! To lose a pound a week you'd probably have to run 2.5 miles a day EVERY day. There is lots of good news though, the further you get in to the programme the more calories you will burn, it will make you feel great, it should encourage you eat more healthily. Most people report that they are more toned and do look better and in fact you might gain weight because muscle weighs more than fat! So don't focus on weight, focus on feeling healthier and fitter. Good luck, keep it slow and steady and you will love it
I have lost 17lbs - using the “My Fittness Pal” app and now on week 6 of C25K. So yes I think the running does help.
That's amazing well done!! Did you reduce your calory intake or just increase exercise?
Yes definitely reduced my intake - especially wine! But not a fad diet just monitoring what I am eating and drinking by logging into the my fitness pal app. This app really does help and easy to keep track out your calories. It also links to my Garmin Connect app so tells you how many extra calls you have earned through exercise. Of course I try not to use the extra ones.
I lost around 10lbs through the programme. It started to drop off around week 4, slowly at around 2lbs a month. Good luck, it’s a health thing but weight loss is a bonus for many of us.
I have lost a few pounds, 8 in total. I didn’t have loads to loose but I got stuck in a bit of a rut. I restarted C25K on the day I started a new diet which gave me a boost to stick to a healthy eating plan. Therefore I wouldn’t say that I’ve necessarily lost weight from the running but it did perhaps wake up my metabolism and my head into sensible eating!! 😆
Good luck you can do it. Take your time and take your rest days
I got myself into tangle about weight etc. The running really tones you up and makes you wanting more. I used my fitness pall too but I was finding it hard to actually eat the calories I should. So I stopped recording for a while to see if it helped me. I also go to a pt once a week and between running diet and pt I've lost near 1.5 stone. My legs are thinner. I feel more stronger and not as bloated. I've a good bit to go and to work on the belly. My advice is just give your best, cut the crap and don't worry about the weight. It will work itself out in the long run
What they said. You can’t outrun a bad diet, but you can use running to assist weight loss via healthy eating and you can become fit and healthy doing it too. It should also tone you up so that you’ll look in the mirror and start to see the differences pretty soon.

Hi, well done for starting 🎉
Agree with everything said above. I just wanted to add, try taking measurements. I'm sure you've heard that advice before but it really does help with motivation, especially when the scales aren't moving. When I did this program the first time, along with healthy eating ,I lost 8 inches from my waist! I just wish I'd measured thighs, arms etc aswell 😂
Good luck!
