I did it! Finished my final run today. Proud of myself, considering last year I tore my achilles during week 2!

Well done !!! Gotta ask about the Achilles, as mine is tender. Did u have any warning it was going to tear?

Hi Snuffy-T, if I think back I'd been having some pain and swelling in it for years on an off. When I started the running last year it really started to hurt so I took a break for a couple of weeks and my tendon just went when I was out walking. It felt like being kicked really hard in the back of the leg and the next day was bruised and swollen and I could barely walk. The Dr said it was just a bit inflamed and told me to take a pain killer - it was only after seeing another Dr and being referred for a scan 6 weeks later that I realised that it was torn. 2 weeks in plaster and 8 weeks in a vacoped boot! I would seriously recommend that you don't keep running if you're getting pain, and maybe seek medical advice. Good luck!
