Does anyone know if anyone has progressed from the C25K to doing half-marathons, marathons, duathlons, triathlons, half Ironman, full Ironmans, adventure racing etc, or maybe even the UTMB?
Just curious.

Most of the folks on our sister sites Bridge to 10k and Marathon Running and Race Support started off here.
Thanks for the reply. I have heard of the Bridge to 10K, but not the Marathon one. It's good to hear that people do progress and not just fade-away after graduating.
If anyone has gone on to greater things it would be wonderful to hear about it.
I'd call keeping going with running continuously for 30 minutes pretty great. We did have a fine daft 'discombobulated' triathlon on the forum, very accessible, 30 minutes each of running swimming and cycling.
There is a fabulous photo somewhere on here of Rignold in Greco-Roman get-up leaping over fire as part of a rather interesting race.
I would say that keeping running for 30 minutes after graduation is excellent. I like the sound of the tri, and I was tempted some years ago by a muddy event, but life (and elderly in laws) got in the way!
My swimming ability wouldn't allow me to swim for that long, but I can work on that if anything like it ever crops up again. Do let us know if it does?
dozzer19 just put it out there and we did it! I've worked my way up to being able to swim for longer, but have got slower so don't get as far. I am doing a virtual River Derwent swim... well into my 5th year working on it, but might finish by the end of 2018!
If you want to push a bit, the 'Quests' that are now over on Bridge to 10k are good for identifying and achieving your goals.
I've repeated C25K twice, Bridge to 10K also twice and then moved onto HM. That I repeated three times, lol. Now training for full marathon. Mind you, those things take a bit of time, patience, structure and luck. Whatever you do, don't rush.
I'm impressed! How is the training going, and which marathon are you aiming for first?
I've never run with anyone hence no races. I pick the times, routes and distances and do things the way they suit me. Training's alright but you need to commit to 4-5 times per week and throw in a long run (longer each week) to build the distance. Mine will be a route around central London, somewhere a passer-by can spot me if I end up in a ditch with a foamy mouth. So far so good though. I like this thing.
At least 2 of the guys that graduated C25K around the time I did (early this year) did the GNR
That is truly splendid. I am in awe of such people but know it is achievable for most of us if we have the right mindset. Are you aiming for the GNR?
No, but I am aiming for HM. I've literally just got in from my longest run to date, which was 13.3km
I hope it was a good one. Keep on going and you know how it is with running - the next distance just seems to beckon you...
I enjoyed the lunchtime run so much that I had to do another 5k after work because my legs were twitching!
WHAT??!! Now, that IS dedication.
A rest tomorrow?
Unfortunately not. Our work running coach is back from holiday so it's a full on speed 6k!
You say 6K so glibly, yet when you started on W1R1 I bet it didn't seem possible. It just shows what we can all do. Congrats again.
I graduated from C25K after having a mastectomy and lumpectomy due to breast cancer. I had a PT from Macmillan to help me get my upper body mobility back and after several weeks in the gym she suggested it was time to add a few running intervals to my treadmill warm up. I told her I didn’t do running.
Now I’m training for my first HM in October having already graduated in the Bridge to 10k forum and runnthe distance of a half marathon back in June. I’m 2 years into this running malarkey and love it.
I run whenever I’m away and have enjoyed runs in Thailand, Paris, Copenhagen, the Isle of Wight, and Jersey, although my most favourite run was a couple of weeks ago in Lucerne, where we also had a swim in the lake mid-run. The scenery was stunning.
Firstly, congrats on still being amongst us. That is truly wonderful. Secondly, congrats on the hm training. That is impressive indeed and to have run and swam in the lake sounds idyllic.
please keep us posted and keep enjoying running. Above all though, please stay well.
How long have you got...the list of folk ie endless..as MarkyD says..😉Many of our friends on the forums do awesome things...😊
I graduated in the winter of 2015..at 65..still running three times a week. Including 10Ks..and when back up to full strength (after a spell on the IC)..will continue with my half marathon training. I am 68 and a half!
That is all so wonderful to hear. Congrats to you, and I'm catching you up age-wise, but I'm far behind you on running.
There are loads of marathon and ultra runners who started on here, but not everybody is interested in running in large groups on organised events...........so us antisocial old curmudgeons just do our own thing.
