If you have a concern about a person in this community who you think may be trying to scam you. Who do you report it to?

If it is a chat message then there is a report function bottom right of the message screen. I recently got contacted my a " member " with a sob story that sounded similar to the standard " Nigerian Prince's inheritance " scam. Also block that user at the same time and you won't get anymore nuisance chat messages.

Not received any of those direct scams directly to me, however there have been some people who say they are running a event 5 or 10k for a certain charity which they name asking you to implicitly contribute to.

Hiya, it's all about trust really. Over time you'll get to know the regular contributors and names on this forum. I'm very privileged and am able to sponsor people, so when I see requests from people that I 'know', I sponsor them. But anyone that I don't know (and I often check to see when they joined) asking for money, I just ignore. Or sometimes, I welcome them to the community and ask them to contribute their skills, knowledge and experience, rather than just asking for money.

As an example, we have a member amateurwriter (Siobhan) who has contributed a lot to this forum in the past, and has a great track record of charity work. She's recently promoted her fund raising. In my opinion Siobhan has 'earned' the right to promote her cause on this forum.

Ignore the message/sender. Block them if you can.
