Well, hubby and I have worked out a new route, 30 minute loop from our gate and back to....post grad runs have been going well....I went for a gait analysis this morning and I over pronate, knew that, got some new insoles until I can source some affordable swanky new running shoes, and it's running day, so we danced and we went. Well, it felt slow, turns out it was quite quick actually, but me legs, oh God me legs.......finished the run, basically crawled to my roller and stretched and rolled.......they still hurt a bit. I'm thinking maybe the new insoles corrected my gait somewhat, but my legs had gotten used to my over pronation so they didn't like it?? Any thoughts wise running buddies?😖

I don’t know about insoles... shoes normally need breaking in a little though. Maybe they need a couple of runs to get used to. If you were quicker than usual that may be a sign that you were more comfortable and that they are doing their job. There would also be a small change on your joints and muscles, but usually the feeling is that it’s better. You earned those sore legs though... good job... rest and look after them. Good run.
Too fast?
Any change in support is going to have an effect on your muscles, which is why I rotate my shoe use....... I have four pairs. When I get new shoes I would not go out and do a long or hard run in them, but gradually break in both shoes and my feet to the difference. It might be worth doing the same with your insoles...........alternating runs with and without.
It may of course be that the insoles are not providing the correct support.
