Started my own programme a couple of months ago but then found c25k. Now to start week 3, and feeling ok. I have a screw in my foot, arthritis in my hip, pagets disease in thigh bone, and a frozen shoulder, but my motivation to get going is my grandson who just won the under17 junior GNR yesterday. Aim for a good time and enter the GNR 5K nexy year.

My age --- 75

Welcome... good to have a goal. Enjoy the journey. Your grandson is obviously awesome, well done to him. Well done to you getting through the first two weeks too.

In spite of everything my problem will be holding back.

Michael Johnson still sounded good today despite his mini stroke.

He did. And he’s the example I’m going to use now. He won 4 Olympic golds, and to do that he will have followed his coach’s instructions to the letter, leaving the planning to them... you just need to remember that, it’s the best and fastest way to your goal. Trust MJ, and this plan... don’t push to fast, or you may be watching that race while nursing injuries.

I like your attitude! I'm no spring chicken and it's nice to know I'm not the only one. 66 last birthday and dreading the onset of decrepitude! This will stave it off I hope.

Have other problems not mentioned but I take the tablets & do daily execises, and the old age morning aches and pains wear off.
