Does anyone else here cycle and run?

Is it something that can be done between runs?

I quite like to get out on my bike but don’t want to over do it.

They are excellent cross training for each other... just don’t do massively more cycling than you’re used to and then run the morning after.

Chuck in a swim and get preparing for a triathlon, they all work well together!

Yep I've been going out on my bike on some rest days, plus swimming and walking.

Yes I started C25k in the hope that it would improve my aerobic capacity for cycling - mainly for hills. I struggled in week 1 but it has worked! I did 5.04k in W9R1, an unexpected plus getting the 5k, and am hoping to do W9R2 tomorrow and graduate on Wednesday or Thursday. I've had some 2 or 3 day intervals between runs so that I can cycle in between and when I feel tired take a rest day (listen to body!). I'm thrilled with where I've got to and smashed my usual Sunday cycle ride this morning. I never expected to get this fit at age 61, so I am very happy with C25k. Keep doing both running and cycling, they are a great combination!

Thanks for that. Yeah I think I will try cycling as well. I just need to remember my rest days as they are super important

Rest days are rest from high impact exercise like running. Low impact exercise like walking, cycling or swimming is OK and as has been said can even help with your running. There’s maybe something to be said for an actual rest day once a week with little or no strenuous exercise but even that still leaves three more non-running days each week where you can still do things like cycling.

Yes, yes, yes!! πŸ˜€

In fact my dr has told me to keep cycling so my knee muscles are strong. πŸ˜ƒ

Cycling is an ideal supplement to running as it's low impact. I find the following works well for me. Monday, Wednesday, Friday running. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, walking or cycling. Sunday rest day. The only days I'm strict about are the run days - they take place no matter what. The other days vary depending on weather, my mood, or whatever, for example if it's raining heavily on Saturday I'll skip the cycling and do it on Sunday instead. I hadn't cycled for over 40 years but I bought the bike after graduating C25K so that I could keep up the exercise on non-run days.
