I completed C25K in June and was consolidating. In mid July I sprained my ankle. It's still painful but getting better. Should I start the programme again? I attempted a run last night and ended up walking most of it.

How far did you get in terms of time? I doubt you’d be back at week one... maybe more around week 6... that pain will put all sorts of spanners in the works too.

First of all, make sure that your ankle is completely fine before you try to Run. Ankles are funny things and need time (and occasionally professional help) to recover. Assuming you're painfree, personally, I'd drop back to wk1 and do 1 run. If that goes well and feels easy, do 1 run from wk2. If that feels ok, do the same for wk3 and so on. When you arrive at a run you find hard, or indeed can't complete, then you know exactly where you should be rejoining the programme.
The most important thing to remember is that revisiting the early weeks of the programme isn't a sign of failure. I've redone the whole thing several times; once after a knee injury, once after a broken ankle, once with my daughter and, I'm sure, at least one more time. Each time I finished fitter and faster than the time before. It's such a well designed scheme that we can all benefit from redoing it. Actually, loads of people use the early weeks as interval training, jogging the walk bits and running Hell for leather in the run bits. It's really good fun! Good luck.

Sorry you’re having problems, Ritmo. Maybe the main thing is to focus on your progress rather than the final goal ? I’ve only just started C25k and I know already that because of my weight and unfitness, I’ll be repeating every week at least once. It’s ok, because my target isn’t 5k: it’s to get fit and encourage my kids. Hope the advice from everyone will help. And well done you for not giving up !

You could, many of us do..it is gentle and you know what is what...you could start and see how you feel.. I repeated up to Week 5 after a seven week break from Bridge to 10K.... and then picked up my original stopping place It is controlled and structured...
