I broke my ankle in October, just after completing c25k. Just today got the okay to start running again and am going to try week 3 again and see how it goes. Fingers and toes crossed! X

Good luck.

You need to rebuild resistance to impact, so keep it nice and slow and minimise that impact.

Good luck with your comeback run, take it nice and slowly, I’m sure you’ll soon regain your fitness again. Have you tried the Nike Run Club app ? There are loads of coached runs on there of various times and distances, you can listen to your playlist and it’s free too. You can always stop if you need too and it automatically pauses the workout for you👍

Hi, only just seen your broken ankle posts, so a bit late! I broke my ankle in June, then re-sprained it slipping on the stairs. I was given the go ahead to restart c25k in January, and got to week 3 but it was too much. I had to stop, and I'm still rebuilding. So I would say, if you get a twinge on a run, stop and walk home! When I restart, I'm going to start on week one and stay there for a while. Hope you are progressing nicely.

Thanks for the message! I am feeling lucky so far (touch wood) as I’ve been trying weeks 3 and 4 and so far so good. Had a great run this morning, going to do one more at 4 then move to 5. May be because there’s so much metalwork in my ankle it’s quite strong ??! Good luck to you and really hope the leg gets better and that you get back to running soon x

That's all sounding great! I was unlucky. But I've got an underlying problem with my hip which my physio now thinks is holding up my recovery, so that's what I've got to work on. Glad it's going so well for you, happy running to you!
