Seems I have totally lost the ability judge my pace after my summer break. MyAsics had to interrupt me to tell me I was running over a minute too fast, even though I thought I was taking it easy on a gentle uphill incline. I did manage to slow down, but obviously still not enough
Now for 2 days rest before the plan has me running 2k.

Right now I’m working my way through the c25k plan so I’m on flat roads at the minute. Funnily enough in trail running trainers. Once I get to the 5k I’ll possibly vary
Wow! That’s doing it the hard way. Trail can be a lot of fun.
If you do run some trail then the Maverick series are good for medals - though you have to be careful as some of their short races are 6-8k rather than 5k.
Mo-runs for the male cancer charity have medals and are geared to novices.
Or there’s always virtual races - find one that supports a cause you like and/or has a really nice medal, pay your money, then run at your own pace on a day of your choosing.
