Hello Lolabud.

I try not toeat for about 2 - 3 hours before a run, but only light food, salad, sandwich or the like,if I'm running in the evening or day. However I do try to run in the morning before eating. Important thing is to keep hydrated. Best of luck ☺️👍

With that forum name maybe you can teach us a thing or two.

All my tips are in this guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

As the guide says, no need to change diet and certainly not to add to it for running C25K. You may want to have something before a morning run, but actually you have plenty in reserve if you have eaten normally the day before.

Enjoy your journey.

Welcome lolabud!

You are lucky if you can run at any time of day. I found my stamina better in the evening.

I try to drink lots of water in the hours before the run. I eat at least 2 hours before so as not to feel heavy.

You will find what best fuels you for better running!

Good luck!😎

I'm 53 and had never run before starting C25K 8 weeks ago. Personally I run early in the morning - 6am-ish and don't eat anything before I run as it makes me feel sick if I do. But that's just what works for me. And great that you are wanting to to be fit and start the program. Do check out the FAQ posts pinned to the right hand side of this website - they are essential reading as they are so helpful.

If you run later in the day, ideally don’t eat anything big 2-3 hours before, although a snack would be ok.

I run first thing. Cuppa upon waking up, then a bite of banana and a sip of water before my run. When I started the programme and doing shorter runs, I could manage a whole banana, but not now. I can’t run on empty though. 🍌 🏃‍♀️😀
