Nearly all my parkrun PBs have come after a break from running for a few days, so I always err on the side of extra rest rather than extra miles on legs if I am chasing a good performance. If you are just going to parkrun for a gentle run about, then I suppose it doesn't matter much.

It is often cited that you should be running regularly for a year or more before you consider running on consecutive days.

That was information I wanted to know - how experienced you should be before running on consecutive days. Thanks Tim.

I second that! Take an extra rest day then you'll be at your best for your Parkrun.

Good luck on Saturday ... happy running!

If it was me, I would have an extra day of rest. I often have a better run after an extra day off and I also think it is not worth risking injuries.

Enjoy your Park run ! I am hoping to start doing those in a few weeks - my current goal. πŸ˜ƒ

Rest... and just run on Saturday!

PS

Some griddled salmon...crushed lemon potatoes and a winter salad would be good for dinner:)

I agree with all of the advice that you have been given. If I am doing the Parkrun on Saturday I try to do my other runs on Monday and Wednesday so that I have 2 days rest before the Parkrun. That seems to work best for me. Good luck on Saturday, hope it goes well.
