My first 5k run!

I am so pleased to report that today, I ran 5K for the first time. Ok,so it took me 38.3 minutes or so, but I was so pleased that my average pace was 7.38/k, whereas I have previously struggled to get below 8.

I have been trying to include faster spells for a minute or so every so often, so they will have kicked up my pace for sure.

But I was so proud of myself, and I did not feel as awful afterwards as I was expecting to!

So this is what the consolidation runs over the last 3 weeks have been leading up to. Not too sure I want to aim for 10k yet, but I certainly want to try out a parkrun now I know I can do 5K, albeit slowly!

Well done Barbie! Isn’t the first 5k the best? You did very well - you’re quicker than me by a minute or so!

You’re so right about how important the consolidation runs were. They built our legs up ready. So onwards and upwards! We’ve got this!! 👏👏👏

Well done Barbie, 5k is another milestone and you’ve done a good time. I love Parkrun so can highly recommend them. Remember to your 5 minute warm up before hand though.
