2 hour run in awful weather!

So - completed C25K some time ago and decided to keep at it. Cut to half marathon training (did Brum HM 2017) and a 2 hour run today in terrible rain. Managed just under 11 miles. Felt like I could have kept going to complete the HM distance, but chuffed nonetheless to do that distance in bad conditions. I’ve not posted on here for some time, but have done so today after reading negative posts from people (about themselves). I too am hard on myself, but it serves NO purpose. Learning to accept the poor runs with the positive ones is essential to keep building stamina and distance. So... enjoy your running, take the good with the bad and remember... you’re still beating everyone on the couch!

Too right!! Beating yourself up benefits no one!!

Be proud of every little acheivement and progress. Remember where we started and how far we've come!

Well done on a great run in awful, awful conditions!! 👍😁

Thanks for the reminder! We’re all human and we have good days and bad days. Luckily the good ones outnumber the bad, but it’s just human nature to dwell on the bad ones! 🙄

But running is a great leveler, and having support from the fab folk on here certainly helps!

I’m in awe of your run, by the way! Awesome - and in that weather!! 💦💦😳😳

Well done. It is hard to run in hard rain for sure. You are exactly right about being kind to yourself. Both the good and the bad runs have their own unique lessons.

Great post well done on the distance and time considering the rubbish weather.

We are to hard on ourselves. Good point well made

Well done on persevering in the rain! I’m staying with my parents in Mablethorpe and the rain here was no better. However I ran at 7am before the rain came but wind was very strong. Your time was very good, I hope one day to achieve that. Keep up the good work👍
