Trivial question about park run

I plan to do my first park run this coming Saturday. I'm not driving at the moment - a long, painful and emotional story - suffice to say I'll be getting a lift to the venue. Is there anywhere, or is it ok, to leave my bag (with nothing more valuable that a sweatshirt and a drink in) somewhere?

Thanks in advance

I’m not sure myself, but they might think it a security risk. There are some who do marshalling, so they may be able to help.

Any chance you could just bring the water, and leave the sweatshirt in the car for going back?

Or a lightweight jacket with a zip. And/Or maybe just a bit of cash to buy a drink in a bum bag? ❤️

Usually a volunteers car parked at start with a big boot for you to leave kit in ( is at ours - assume most have something similar) 😊

Thanks, where would we be without those selfless volunteers?

Leave it near finish line. I’d leave it looking tattered like me!

At our Parkrun we start at a sports pavilion and we can stash our stuff there, hang jackets over the railings etc. If anything is left behind they have a lost property box so you’ve got a good chance of picking it up the following week. It seems pretty safe & secure as it’s staffed throughout the run.

Good luck with your Parkrun, it gives a real purpose to your running and a target each week, with loads of friendly like minded people to chat to. Have fun 😁😁

Ah, that's a good point, I'll have a look at the course page.

Cheers

Some parkruns have bins for bags, tops etc. Some use a car boot, others just leave near the start/finish line. Keep your barcode, key and phone with you and nothing of value in the bag. Enjoy!

Thanks - Sounds like park run people are as friendly as the lovely people on this forum so I'm sure someone there will be able to advise me.

Really looking forward to it now.

At our parkrun one of the volunteers has a camper van - he leaves it at the finish with the side door open and we all sling our coats etc in there. Very useful if the weather's a bit nippy first thing 😀 You'll love it.
