Depends when you run, gonna be dark early mornings and evenings soon. It also depends where you run, would be a waste near me if you ran roads, pretty essential on the trails.

I think I’d rather have something round my waist as I’m used to that, head would feel weird at first. I guess it’s personal preference though. Headlight probably better on corners.

Depends what time of day you run, I guess! I often run after work and a couple of the roads I run on are poorly lit/no streetlights. During the darker evenings I use a Kalenji chest light (bought from Decathalon a couple of years ago). Here is a link to their site, although I see that the chest light they sell now is slightly different.

Head torches are very popular but I prefer a chest light (I hate hats too!) Hope this is of help!🙂

A headtorch is essential for off-road running, or if running on roads. I say headtorch, because that is my preference, it lights up where you are looking, unlike a chest torch. Many also come with a red rear light, again an essential on roads.

I bought one of these today:

Baffled by the straps, but if it works it's going to be an essential piece of kit for where I am. We are centuries away from street-lights, Internet, properly maintained roads, mains gas . Living the rural dream in the 16th century :-)

I have the same one - I bought it last winter and I think it works well. Very bright - even on the lower setting it gives decent light, keeps charge for a good amount of time too.

I have no idea how to get into it. If I get tied in knots will you rescue me? xx

Hehe, well I’m no expert - not sure I wear mine correctly but it seems to stay on ok!! 😁
