Hi I’m just curious to know if anyone has lost weight aswell as improved fitness while doing this? If so did you put a lot of effort into dieting also? I’m just about to start week 3, I try to follow slimming world and do eat healthy mainly but must admit I do have cheat days often lol

Really enjoying this far, feeling fitter already 😬

Very pleased you are enjoying the C25k programme.

Yes with the programme and other cross training activities on your repair days you will become very much fitter and stronger.

In the early stages of the programme and until you build up your strength and stamina you probably will not burn sufficient calories.

Best decision of your fitness life to go on this, your journey.

You will certainly not gain weight overall and will improve your muscular calorie burning capability when you are sleeping/resting.

Stick with this and you will amaze yourself.

So many more opportunities after you graduate and consolidate this habit of running.

You are at the beginning of something that will allow you to achieve any goals you set yourself with patience and trust in this programme and the forum.

I hope you continue to enjoy the programme and fall in love with running.

Because as you build your running brain and running body and in time you can be the fittest, strongest, healthiest and most toned you have ever been in your life.

Both running at your happy pace, happy weight, happy mood, so what is not to like.🤔

Atb. Believe it.💥🏃‍♀️💥

Thanks for your great positive response 😬 never thought of it as a running brain aswell but yeh feeling focused and determined so that must be developing too

Perhaps think of it this way, your the owner, but running brain is calling the shots, at least for the time you are making continuous improvement, if not P45 issued and a new plan in place, so Running body has just to follow.

Of course you follow the guidance rules and look after running body. But feeding your running brain on the forum takes time also.🤔

Atb, we are all uniquely different and have to find the gems we need on the forum.Keep sharing yours also.💥🏃‍♀️💥

My next run is w6R1

And at the mo I’m having to make some pretty tough decisions in my life but I’m feeling so much more capable of doing this and I’m sure it’s due to this program.

I’m finding the combo of physical mental and community support empowering.

Thank you C25K and all you fellow runners out there you are great 👊

Visit Sadie-runs post on her runniversary yesterday over on bridge.

You will get plenty reassurance of your own findings.

You are soon on the lovely continuous runs and every good wish in sorting out the tough stuff.👏👏

Hope you get sorted.🌟👏👏

Enjoy it all.💥🏃‍♀️💥

Stay focused. You will see results before too long. I lost 3 stone on Slimming World with occasionally having a treat and doing the Coach to 5K. My final weight loss happened as I ran my last few weeks of C25K. It is possible!

I started losing weight around week 8 and kept running about 3 times a week after graduating and the weight came off very well. It's the 30min runs that really do it for weight loss. I do diet but 'forget' quite a bit, lol 😂😂

Lol yep forgetting is a better way than saying cheating and feeling bad. Well done you

Good luck with it all. I am sure you will be smiling at the scales soon. Might be worth measuring waist etc to see the results too. I forgot to do that, lol ..... really forgot.....not diet 'forgot'

Hi I’m doing slimming world too and had lost nearly 3 stone before starting C25K. I’m about to start week 9 (30 mins-eek??!!!). I am a teacher so on holiday and have been let’s say, more than slightly off my diet! I have not gained weight tho so running seems to allow me to have more cheat days and get away with it! Good luck 🏃‍♀️

I’ve almost lost 4 stone some September with slimming world. I started running in February. I don’t think the running really helped accelerate weight loss til I was regularly doing 3 x 5ks a week really. I have Sunday as a cheat day then am fairly strict the other 6 days. As you get better at running and lose more, you’ll get motivated to stick to the plan more. Make sure your doing the third speed food 👌🏽 Oh and you shouldn’t be eating any extra because you’re running. The only extra I have is a banana before an evening running club if I’m hungry as I have tea late on those days 💪🏽

I cut out all of the bad stuff like sugar, bread, chips, chocolate e.t.c. I have been losing 1.4 - 1.8lb per run

Tbae profile image

That’s just amazing.

Not everyone should have that expectation.🤔

The more you have to lose, initially the more you lose.

Steady is good and although C25k is strictly not a weight loss programme, impact running is the singularly most important ingredient of all.

Magic running.A gift we should all give to ourselves.👏👏

Take good care of you,

incredible achievement. 💥

You do not want to lose muscle , particularly your core strength which you engage to run.

Go you.💥🏃‍♂️💥
