After struggling with w6 runs 1-2 i went out yesterday evening disheartened, even after reading positive posts!
So, what i did -since it was all running- was too listen to a comic podcast. I yhought it would possibly help not to keep thinking how long i had and how hard it was.
Well it really worked! I actually ran for 27 minutes plus!!! I love laura but i can't say i enjoy the particular music... sorry about that.
Anyway i am VERY happy to say that YES it is doable!! I am now super sure i will reach graduation.
*Btw i listened to an episode of "My dad wrote a porn" and was laughing instead of focusing on managing the time. Please share other fun podcasts you've tried.

I gave up on Laura's funny music in week 6 (although when I here the introduction now, I feel quite emotional ) I mostly listen to audio books. Lots of radio 4 comedy programmes are 30 minutes in duration which is perfect. Look for the Friday Night Comedy podcast
Well done! I've just competed run 3 week 6. I never thought I could do it but I did! I made a playlist of 6 songs totalling 25 minutes. That really kept me going. I chose songs that told a story so I was focussed on the lyrics. Job doneπ
Well done! Yes if i get round to it i could make MY playlist. You're right. I knew the episode was 30 mins long and thought i'd check every so often if i'd reached 25. Well, i never looked once and got close to the end at 28 mins roughly!
I too find listenzing to podcasts is the way to go, otherwise I concentrate on how much time I have left.
It is a little more annoying when Sarah M speaks over it though, because then I have to skip it back to the bits Iβve missed; when youβre listening to music it doesnβt matter so much.
You are so right! As it is mind over matter, it really helps to fool your sense of time. I really think interesting conversations do it. I don't know if an audiobook would do it? I tend to skip paragraphs with too much description. Can't do that whilst running!!
I also like the Radio 4 podcasts; More or Less (where they investigate statistics etc that have been in the news - sounds a bit dry but is very interesting and funny), and Last Word (an obituary programme about people who have died that week who were newsworthy in some way).
I find that they keep my interest so I donβt concentrate on the time, and I learn something interesting too!
In the early weeks I listened to my own playlist - I never like anyone elseβs music choices as much as my own!
I always thought Iβd listen to music and had never used podcasts or audiobooks before I got onto week 8 of the programme but I find them far more diverting than music!
I like bbc radio 2βs confessions podcast and Iβve currently got Harry Potter 1 on audiobook which is brilliant as Iβve not read it since it came out π
