Having recently graduated and even more recently achieved my first 5k, I'm gearing myself for a Park run. Doing some research I came across this very helpful / interesting Blog written by a guy who's run park runs in many counties and then written a report on the track etc. Thought it might be useful to some others on here. (No affiliation etc, but just take my hat off to the guy!)

Great Blog on Parkruns
Wow, he's a parkrun nerd! Seriously though, what an effort to bring all that together.
He's never done Telford though, and I shall be doing it on Saturday 😂🏃🏻♂️
He sure is! Perhaps you should suggest Telford to him, or start them up in Switzerland! 🇨🇭 🏃
Yeh he needs to come up north! And I agree about Switzerland, I'm off for my holidays in 2 weeks and was disappointed there weren't any for me to try! 😞
Where in Switzerland @Little-runner?
We're staying in the hills above Interlaken. 🏔😍
I live in Wengen, in the hills above Interlaken!
NO waaayyyy! We're on the other side...through Beatenberg. OMG what an amazing place to live! So where do you go running for flat-ish routes?
My usual route is Stechelberg to Lauterbrunnen along the valley - it's almost dead flat and just a tad more than 5k. Another good one is Mürren to Grütschalp, especially if it’s a hot day. You'll be just above the lake - some great runs down there like Neuhaus round to Interlaken West through the golf course. Hope you have a great holiday - we're in the U.K. until the end of August. Can’t wait to be back!
I ADORE Switzerland (lived there for 5 years) but I think they might have trouble finding any vaguely flat 5k routes !
It's sooooo beautiful there in the Summer, enjoy your hols and enjoy your (hilly) runs amidst the stunning scenery 🏃🇨🇭
Oh wow...where did you live? We stayed in Chaminoix last summer for the hiking, and decided to go to Switzerland this year as heard it was more beautiful. Got to admit I'm a little bit worried about how I'm going to fit the runs in as it coincides with me starting Ju-Ju's 10k plan...especially as we are staying on a campsite that is at height! (I think it's above 1,000 meters) I may have to see if I can persuade my other half to drive me into the valley while I do my run! 🏃🏼♀️
We were in Villars-sur-Ollon.
I recall seeing a lot more cyclists than runners in Switzerland but perhaps that's just because we were up at altitude and there are some great cycle routes around there like the Col du Pillon.
Chamonix is also fab (but I would have to agree that Switzerland is prettier 😉)
Your holiday spot, and where Mike is based, are absolutely beautiful areas. The waterfalls around Lauterbrunnen are fabulous.
Sounds like Mike has some envious routes 😎
Just be prepared for the strong Swiss franc against the pound so things will seem more costly than in Chamonix.
Enjoy your alpine holiday and your runs 🏃
